The Gateway to Paradise from Chalong Pier
Chalong Pier Phuket – Wander along this modern pier at the heart of Phuket’s largest bay and admire the scenic views of the sea.
The Chalong Pier is among the main attractions in the Chalong Pier coastal area. The modern jetty lies on the location of a former rickety wooden structure, which was replaced in 2001. Take a boat out on the water in this busy area full of yachts.
Take a walk out on the long pier and enjoy the views of the Andaman Sea and Ko Lon island. The jetty is 2,360 feet long and 23 feet wide. Capture photos of the picturesque bay at sunset, when the dimming light shimmers on the water. Explore the harbor with your family and imagine yourself making a luxury voyage around the world on your favorite vessel.
Take a boat out on the water from one of the many boat clubs such as Charter Dock A. Join sailors gathered in the bar and watch some of the regular sailing races. Ride a boat to one of the small islands off the coast of Phuket.
Dine at Kan Eang @ Pier in the adjacent harbor. Many seafood restaurants offer unobstructed vistas of the water. Browse shops for souvenirs and other trinkets. Consider some of the other entertaining activities near Chalong Bay, such as elephant rides, go-karting and horseback riding.
Note that the bay is not appropriate for swimming as the water is rather muddy.
Find Chalong Pier in the southern part of Phuket Island across a small bay from the Phuket Aquarium. See nearby highlights, such as the Phuket Orchid Farm and Phuket Shooting range. Leave your car in the harbor’s large parking lot.
