The 160-metre new build Project Blue has been launched by German shipbuilder Lürssen,
Hitting the water earlier today at the yard’s Bremen facility in the north of the country.
Details of the displacement motor yacht have been kept tightly under wraps throughout the construction process, though it is understood it was designed inside and out by Terence Disdale.
Very little is known about the superyacht, the beam of which is believed to be 22.5-metres, as she has been constructed entirely under cover, with no renders having ever been shared of her lines.

Dilbar, the highest volume superyacht by volume in the world, was launched by Lürssen in 2016 and has an extraordinary volume of 15,917 GT, while the longest superyacht in the world, Azzam, is also a Lürssen. At 180.61-metres and with a volume of 13,136 GT, precedes the next longest superyacht by more than 15 metres. She was launched by Lürssen in 2013.
So far, the yard has revealed that Project Blue has a beam of 22 metres and an impressive interior volume of 15,320 GT – similar in size to 156 metre Dilbar, which has a volume of 15,917 GT and was delivered by Lürssen back in 2016 with design by Espen Oeino International and Winch Design.
First images have now been revealed of the project following the launch, debuting her clean lines and raked bow.
Images of the superyacht also show that she is equipped with two helicopter landing sites; a large helideck at the bow and a smaller helipad aft.
The 158 metre superyacht has a similar interior volume to Dilbar
Each of the four upper decks features a large al fresco entertaining area and there is a swimming platform connected to a beach club, plus forward stateroom balconies on either side.
At a length of 160-metres, Blue will be the fifth longest superyacht in the global fleet and the second longest Lürssen, ousting Dilbar from her spot. Blue is one of four of the 10 largest yachts due to be launched this year, she is also the largest superyacht that will enter the fleet in 2022
