Our mission is through, leadership, professionalism and friendship, working together to achieve our vision, maximize networking opportunities and support a responsible Tourism industry.
As in other associations of industry professionals most Skål activities take place locally, but the movement also features National and Area Committees under the umbrella of Skål International, which has its permanent General Secretariat and CEO in Torremolinos, Spain.
HISTORY OF Skål International Association
The first Club was founded in Paris, 16th of December 1932 by travel trade managers who had been on an
educational tour of Scandinavia and so the idea of professionals in travel and tourism working
closely together in a spirit of friendship was born.
The idea of international goodwill and friendship grew, and the “Association International des Skål Clubs” was established on April 28th 1934 with Florimond Volckaert as its first President, who is considered the “Father of Skål”.
Skål International has now more than 13469 members, entailing of industry’s Managers and Executives, meeting at Local, National, Regional, and International levels to do business among friends throughout more than 345 Skål Clubs along 103 countries.
There are six clubs in Thailand. Bangkok, Chiangmai, Hua Hin, Krabi, Phuket, and Koh Samui.
Skål is also the Scandinavian word for Cheers; and means:

L lycka – Happiness

FLORIMOND VOLCKAERT FUND
Skål also offers financial support to members in times of need. This embedded generosity in the Skål philosophy was established in memory of the founder of Skål, Florimond Volckaert.
